PROTEIN REQUIREMENT Step 1: Convert Body Weight in pounds to Body Weight in Kilograms. See Chart below or divide weight by 2.2. Lbs. = kg. Step 2: Multiply kg. x .8 g (normal requirement) Kg. x .8 g = grams of protein recommended Step 3: Multiply kg. x 1.5 g (heavy training accompanied by weight loss) Kg. x 1.5 = grams of protein recommended Step 4: As an outside assignment, compare this number to grams recommended When using the % of diet method. *Good resource – Most Nutritional
