Instead, provide header information as above. This header should begin one inch from the top of the page. Center the title without use of underlining, bolding, quotation marks, or a different-sized font from the rest of the essay. Double space the text throughout the submission; do not use single spacing or triple spacing, especially between the heading, title, and text. Put your last name in the upper right hand corner with a page number on all pages.

For your research paper, quote only when necessary; it is better to paraphrase using your own writing voice. When quoting or paraphrasing, place the parenthetical reference at the end of the relevant sentence, followed by a period. Except when writing the research paper, avoid research from secondary sources outside your textbook, especially from the Web.
