Writers Memo For this paper I put a lot of work into it. Not only because it was our first paper and I wanted to start off strong but because this was a new style of reading that I have never done before. I wanted to reach every guideline that was given so I would have a great paper. I sat down with a graduate student who specialized in close reading/analysis and made sure that I was going in the right direction. I then finished my paper and sat down with another Howe Writing Center advisor and we corrected my paper grammatically and made sure everything made sense. For the amount of time and effort I put into this paper I would give myself a B+/A-. I think it would fall into that range because again this is the first time I have done a close read so it might not be up to your

Unformatted text preview: standards for what a good close read paper is about. If I could of done this assignment again I would have changed a few things. First off when reading the book I would have had a pencil and a notebook near by so when I read something very important I could jot down where it was in the book. I would have also pulled more examples from the text if I had to do the assignment over. Overall I think my mindset was fine but if I had to change it I would of told myself to look at something and re-read it looking deeper into the context of what I read and look for that deeper meaning. I do not think I would change or modify my topic. I feel that my topic was a very important piece of this book and the amount of information provided gave me a great way to backup my information....
