CEE 4674: Airport Planning and Design Spring 2011 Assignment 6: Demand Analysis and Geometric Design Standards Date Due: April 5 Instructor: Trani Problem 1 Use the FAA Terminal Area Forecast ( http://aspm.faa.gov/main/taf.asp ) to explain the growth of passenger enplanements and number of total operations (itinerant plus local) of the following airports: 1) JFK, 2) STL and 3) ROA. a) Plot the historical number of total operations as a function of time. b) Calculate the growth of flight operations at every airport since 1976. Problem 2 Use the FAA Terminal Area Forecast ( http://aspm.faa.gov/main/taf.asp ) to find the best Logistic curve regression for the number of enplanements at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). This analysis requires use of Excel Solver. The TAF provides enplanements generated by Air Carrier operations (ACC), Air Taxi operations (AAT) and Commuter operations (Commuter). We are interested in the sum of all three enplanements. a.
