Dear David Becker: The way I begin my writing is by reflecting on the topic I am to write about, then determine if I need to explore more options to gain more knowledge about the subject. Once I feel I have adequate information to begin, I like to start with a notebook and a pencil and create an outline to ensure that I maintain order and to help with remembering all the main points. I then use my laptop computer and Microsoft Word to begin the writing. I always single-space and use the default margins. Afterwards, I go back and make the changes needed to make the font or spacing where it needs to be. I have a tendency to write at an average pace and then go back after each paragraph and proofread to see if I notice any errors and to ensure I hit on the major points. After the entire paper is written, I will save the draft and come back after a day or two and read it again to see how I can improve. I like to make the changes on the computer and just hit the save button. I do have a tendency to procrastinate when I need to write. I suffer from anxiety
