Aaron Wesel ENC-102/Assignment 3 Research Summary by Aaron Wesel In the preparation that I did for my recent article “Online Learning” ( Assignment 1 ), I thought about many different tactics to successfully tackle the issue and discuss its many benefits and merits versus its cons. Ultimately, I decided to compose my essay on a one-sided basis, only discussing its pros and not even mentioning its cons. I did this because I figured that having one central idea to my essay would improve its coherency over an essay debating its pros and cons. For the research, I relied heavily on search engines like Google Scholar to find quotes and statistics from credible sources that I could use to support my opinion. Firstly, I looked for reliable statistics that could demonstrate if the field of online learning was growing proportionally to the population, or increasing at a much faster rate. I found a table on the website of the National Center for Education Statistics ( NCES ) which clearly showed that the percentage of students taking online courses has jumped nearly exponentially in recent years.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
