Animal Rights Explain: Explain both the Line Drawing Problem and the Explanatory Problem for any attempt to explain what features make someone a moral subject with the same moral status as an adult human being. Why does the capacity to suffer look like it does well by both problems? o Line Drawing: where to draw the line (needs to include all people) Whatever explanation we give must explain why people have moral status o Explanatory: explanation we need to explain why we have moral status o Line: How can we draw the line where and how people or animals have capacity to suffer? If they have capacity to suffer then they must have moral status o Explanatory: People have moral because they have capacity to suffer But so do animals then do they have same moral status as humans do? Do you understand the main theses and arguments from the reading and from class? What does Regan mean by “the container theory of people”? What view is he rejecting to?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
