Explain why the question of the permissibility of capital punishment can be thought of as the question of whether killing someone is more like locking someone up or more like raping or torturing someone . a. Retributism i. Kidnapping 1. Because they kidnap someone, we capture them and lock them up ii. Rapist 1. But if they raped someone, do we rape them as a punsishment? iii. Torture 1.
