Group 17 Portfolio Level Assignment 1) The purpose of planning at the portfolio level? The purpose of planning at the portfolio level involves quite a few aspects. The main goal would be to allocate resources effectively to each corporation that you own, as to earn the parent company highest profits. To do this you want to have a diverse mix of investments and make sure you have company goals and objectives in mind. Also each company within the portfolio has to feel that they are benefiting from the overall set of goals. Lastly you want to be able to understand how to use strategic options to your advantage and what tools are needed to do so. 2) The strategic options at the portfolio level? The strategic options at the portfolio level that we would use would always keep consumers in mind, when investing in different businesses, because you want to purchase companies that consumers are interested in.
