English 1301.SC1: Essay 2, Informative Essay For this essay you will choose a community to observe. The community you choose must be one of which you are not already a member or one of which your friends or close family are not members. The point is to choose a group that is unfamiliar to you. You can either choose to attend an event or meeting sponsored by a Student Organization on campus (see Student Organizations under Campus Life on the Collin webpage for examples) or to volunteer to help a group , such as serving a meal to homeless people or helping people in a nursing home (for ideas, see Service Learning under Academics, then Smart Ways to learn for ideas). There are several ways to go about writing this essay.
