Unformatted text preview: EE 362 Assignment 4 • Content : Eigenfunctions, Frequency Response, Suddenly Applied Complex Exponentials • Reading : Course text, pages 40 to 48 of Chapter 2. • Notes : Session 4 Slides. • Assignment Questions : 1. A black box LTI filter has been generated in MATLAB. The filter is implemented as a MAT- LAB function, which is in the file a4filter.p (this file is on the website). Given the input x , the output of the filter can be generated using y=a4filter(x); . (a) Determine the type of filter in the black box, either lowpass, bandpass or highpass. (b) Generate a MATLAB script, called a4q1.m, that calculates and displays the magnitude and phase (in degrees) of the filter in a4filter.p at the frequency f = 0 . 3 cycles/sample. To determine the filter response use the eigenfunction e jωn as the filter input. Submit all files needed to execute your m-file (ie. a4filter.p). 2. Which of the following discrete-time signals are eigenfunctions of stable, linear, time-invariant discrete-time systems? Show that they are eigenfunctions or they are not.discrete-time systems?...
