Wesley McLaughlin Writ 101 / 11 – 1203 Narrative Essay November 7 th 2008 A Day on the Lake One cool summery morning my neighbor and I took off for a family vacation. Her name is Desirae and mine is Wesley. We went with her parents, and their two dogs. The vacation with her family was to beautiful Lake Cushman, Washington; in the deep forests of the peninsula. Their family has a nice boat and we rented a log cabin on the lake for us to stay in. Our major objective there was to go wakeboarding and just plain and simply have fun! We arrived at our cabin at about dinner time. It was beginning to get chilly after unpacking for three whole hours, so we decided to build a fire in the pit outside of the back door. There we roasted hot dogs for dinner and were having a jolly time. For desert we even toasted some marshmallows to make s’mores and everything was going as planned. Afterwards we decided to go up stairs and climbed into our cozy king sized bed. We smelled of smoke from the fire, but decided to crash out anyways so that we could be up bright and early for the fun day ahead. She slipped her do-rag on over her head and put in her retainers as I popped out my contacts and set my glasses on my head. Soon after we were out and sleeping like the logs our cabin was made of. Sure enough the next morning Desirae and I woke up at about 7:00 AM to the
