Electrical, Computer, & Telecommunications Engineering Technology Digital Fundamentals 20072 0618-301 Lab #5 Combinational Logic Design II Binary-to-Hex display Pre-Laboratory: In this lab you will be designing a circuit that has a four-bit input and 7 outputs. The inputs represent a 4-bit binary number and will be controlled by the four switches on the d_logic.1 board. The outputs control the 7 segments of a 7-segment display and will control the display such that it shows the hex digit that corresponds to the binary number being input on the switches. The 7-segment display will be on a separate bread board and connected to a 74HC573 (also on the bread board). The 74HC573 will connect to portA of the d_logic.1 board via wires. The 7 outputs from the circuit (a-g) will be pinned-out to 7 I/O connectors on PortA. 1. Obtain and review the datasheet for the MAN6980 7-segment display 2. Obtain and review the datasheet for the 74HC573 Transparent Latch 3. Review the d_logic.1 board pinout found in MyCourses. 4.
