Problem 2 An engineer desires to use an a parallel plate waveguide filled with a medium having μμ 0 = , ε 4 ε 0 = to transmit fields in the TM0, TM1, and TE1 modes only at a frequency of 5 GHz. (a) Find the smallest possible spacing between the parallel plates ( d min ) so that the desired modes can propagate at 5 GHz.
