Suggestions for How to Study for FIN 3403 Your text, the lectures, the note shells, and other materials on the class webpage are all important study tools and, for the most part, tie together. I would suggest that you do the following: 1. Go the appropriate Learning Module on the class website and look over the Overview, Learning Objectives, and Outline for the chapter(s) assigned. 2. Read the chapter in the text (for general content) before coming to class or watching the lecture. 3. Watch the lecture. 4. Re-read the chapter after the lecture to make sure that you now understand the main points -- if not, go to a TA or me for help. 5. Work the definitional, conceptual, and problem self-tests for each chapter.

Unformatted text preview: 6. Look over the problems at the end of the chapter in the text and concentrate on any that might cause you trouble -- try to work them. 6. If you can't work the problems and don't understand the solutions, see a TA or me for help. 7. Go to problems from the old exams. 8. If you can work them, fine. If you can't work them, look at the solutions. 9. If you don't understand the solutions, see a TA or me for help. 10. If you do understand the solutions, go back to the same problem 2-3 days later to make sure that you can now work the problem without looking at the solutions.
