Furnish and install thermal and acoustic batt insulation as described in Contract Documents. 1.2 REFERENCES A. American Society For Testing And Materials 1. ASTM C 665-98, 'Standard Specification for Mineral-Fiber Thermal Insulation For Light Frame Construction and Manufactured Housing' PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS A. Thermal And Acoustic Insulation 1. Kraft faced meeting requirements of ASTM C 665, Type II, Class C. 2. Foil faced meeting requirements of ASTM C 665, Type III, Class B. 3. Order insulation by 'R' factor rather than 'U' factor, rating, or thickness, either 16 or 24 inches wide according to framing spacing. 4. 'R' Factor Required - a. Overhead - 38 b. LVL Framing - 1) 7-1 / 4 inches - 26 2) 9-1 / 4 inches - 32 3) 11-1 / 4 inches - 38 c. Nominal Wood or Metal Framing - 1) 2x4 - 11 2) 2x6 - 19 3) 2x8 - 26 4) Double 2x4 Stud Walls
