The Crazy English Language! Why are there highways in Hawaii? Why isn’t phonetic spelled the way it sounds? Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways? When we transport something it is called a “shipment,” but when we transport something by boat is called “cargo?” There is no egg in eggplant, no pine in pineapple?

The Crazy English Language! French Fries were not invented in France! Quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and guinea pigs are neither from Guinea nor are a pig. Writers write, but fingers don’t fing, hammers don’t ham. Plural of tooth is teeth, plural of booth? One goose, two geese, is cheese the plural of choose? The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
