When upper management decided to relocate the HR department along with accounting, billing and several others to Wilmington DE, it saves the company a lot of money as far as Delaware being a tax free state and cost of living was much cheaper than New York. The decision was made to outsource their mailroom and also hire temps for various departments. This decision was good for Conde Nast because they didn’t have to worry about the health benefits, pension plans or 401k that they offer their employees to temps or the company they outsource to. One of the toughest challenges that management is facing, is how to get the same amount of quality work done from the employees that’s currently working, while downsizing is going on due to the hard economic times that we’re facing....
