Chapter 11 Vocab 1. Five Dilemmas- comcept developed by Thomas o’Dea concerns dilemmas religious organizations must face and try to solve as they become more complex. 2. Tibetan Buddhism- A religion in jeopardy in its native country. 3. Canon- official list; rule/ standard authoritive set of sacred or secular writings. 4. Smriti- remembered all texts that have human authors. 5. Shruti- reserved for all texts that have human authors. 6. Jim Jones- leader of peoples temple; his people committed a mass suicide and he called it an act of revolutionary suicide. 7. Dalai Lama- the most influential spiritual leader.
