Notes © 2005-2011 : Evan Golub ([email protected]) Straightening an Image When shooting freehand, or even with a tripod, we sometimes don’t position the camera perfectly aligned to the desired vertical/horizontal. By rotating the image on the canvas, we can correct this. When rotating, we will likely be forced to crop the image or we would need to expand the canvas and have blank areas in each corner.

Notes © 2005-2011 : Evan Golub ([email protected]) Losing Information NOTE: Rotating anything other than multiples of 90 ° is a lossy operation no matter what raster format you are using. The problem comes from the fact that for angles that are not multiples of 90 ° , there will be pixels that no longer have a logical location on the x,y grid provided. This means some pixels will be “lost” in rotation. New pixels will also need to be generated for some x,y positions for non-90 ° multiples.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
