JOHANNES KEPLER HE, LIKE PYTHAGORAS MANY YEARS EARLIER, BELIEVED THAT THERE WAS A HARMONY IN NATURE THAT COULD BE EXPRESSED IN SIMPLE MATHEMATICAL RATIOS AND COULD, IN FACT, BE DETECTED AS MUSIC. HIS MATHEMATICAL SPECIALTY WAS GEOMETRY.
