This fall, we will discuss current research problems of students participating in the IGERT QSE 3 Program. Each week, one student will lead the discussion by focusing on a current problem in their dissertation research. We will discuss the problem as interdisciplinary groups with the aim to provide useful, integrative solutions for the students’ research. Course Objectives There are several objectives for this course. Specifically, the objectives are for students to: 1) Increase interdisciplinary thinking in ecology, math, and statistics; 2) Improve problem-solving abilities in collaborative groups; 3) Improve critical-thinking skills regarding scientific inference. Assigned Readings and Course Notes There are no required readings. However, student presenters can assign readings regarding their work if that would be helpful for their presentation.
