1 Suppose middleMax is used to find the maximum for  a MaxSort algorithm.  Prove that the time complexity of this algorithm is in  θ  (n 2  log n). Recall: the time for middleMax is given by the  recurrence: T(n) = n + 2T(n/2), T(1)=1  whose solution is in  θ  (n log n).

Part B should be handed in on paper at the beginning of  class on Fri. Nov. 4 and you must also upload your code  to connex by 10:30am on Fri. Nov. 4. The connex  submission system is set up to allow you to revise your  submission as many times as you want to up until the  assignment deadline.
