Unformatted text preview: Demonstration of Flight Characteristics Using a Scaled Aircraft Model AAE 490T/590R Team #4 Progress Report 3 Week 3 (02/08/08 02/14/08) Meeting Times : Tuesday 4:30pm-6:00pm Thursday 10:15am-12:00pm Team Members Hours Contributed Signature Tatsuya Kotegawa David Predis John Wright Jennifer Jackson Sricharan Ayyalasomayajula This weeks accomplishments 1. Experiment Details of the experiment were discussed and the objectives were clarified:- Measurement of drag polars and lift curves for different wing incidence angles and different positions of aircraft center of gravity.- Based on the time duration of the experiment, additional objectives would also be included like comparison of the lift curves and drag polars of the aircraft with the airfoil, etc. 2. Aircraft Design- Preliminary CAD model (using CATIA) has been constructed. Since the objective of this effort is not to fly the aircraft, the span was chosen to meet the proposed experiment configurations.- Different airfoils were investigated for both the wing and the tail. The airfoil NACA 4415 was used for the wing to create the CAD model....
