± Introduction Biochemistry is the study of the molecules that compose the living organism. Examination of the individual molecules shows that they all conform to the physical and chemical laws that describe the behavior of matter. However, the living organisms made up of these molecules possess some extraordinary attributes such as: growth development reproduction. Biochemistry determines how this collection of inanimate molecules interact with one another to maintain and perpetuate the living state. Biochemistry thus is concerned with the relationship of molecular function to structure.

± H 2 O Unique liquid Arrangement of electrons in O and H gives it electrical polarity. The oxygen draws electrons from hydrogen and have partial + charge on hydrogens and partial negative charge on oxygen. Thus have asymmetry, dipolar nature.
