Concert Report Summary Jonathan Lee 4/11 The concert reports for this class has been especially rewarding for me. I have found a deeper level of engaged listening that has allowed me to really be an active listener for nuisances that cannot be caught casually. I think that I listened and responded differently to the last concert than the first because of all the additional lectures that have taught me different techniques, styles, forms, and other musical aspects. Also, all of the listening exercises where I am forced to really try to catch onto small details along with bigger picture themes and motives have caused me to be able to do the same for the concerts. Since I had a musical background playing the violin in many different symphony orchestras, ensembles, and chamber orchestras, I did have the ear to catch onto very basic level musical characteristics such as the meter, tempo, and dynamic level.
