N1313A Brief course description: A first semester course for students who require a full year of organic chemistry. Structure, bonding, stereochemistry, reactions, mechanisms and spectroscopy of organic compounds will be discussed. Course credits: 4 Pre-requisite: Chem 104 or equivalent. It is STRONGLY suggested that you review your general chemistry notes, especially topics on periodic trends, atomic structure and acids and bases at the beginning of the course. Textbook: Organic Chemistry (Solomons, 10 1 ed.). Chapters 1-12 will be covered in this course. Grading/Exams: There will be three (3) hourly exams (100 points each) and a final exam (200 points).
