Adam Bottorff 4.10.10 Sociology Analytical Summary “The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism” Max Weber's The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, is an article that studies Protestantism and how it effects and creates capitalism. Max has seen capitalism and what effects it has had with business and the rich people. He believes that capitalism has a direct conflict with the believe in the protestant religion, and he tries to figure out what effect and how it works with capitalism. He does this by observing a correlation from the Protestant belief system and being involved in business, and that starts up his pursue religion as a the cause for the current economic condition. Max has many arguments for his reasoning that capitalism is an effect from Protestantism. He is arguing that from Protestantism, that capitalism sees a growth and a positive movement forward. He studies this whole experiment by turning into a protestant himself, so he gets a first hand experience. He finds out that Protestantism offers many spirits
