Adam Bottorff 4/10/10 Sociology Analytical Summary “Abiding Faith” In Mark Chaves, “Abiding Faith”, he is looking to find out the reason of how some people believe in god, and do not act like it, and how others actually follow god’s word and hints. He analyzes and argues that the problems in business, and work has divided and has an effect on Americans belief in god and spirits. He looks at how the different people actually promote their religions and beliefs, and who really does care about what they believe in. Mark wants to find out why many people do not take religion seriously, and feels that most people think all religions are the same with the same goals. Mark finds out that the group of people, who seldomly believe in god, are mostly in business, marketing, and communication. He notices that the politicians actually see how serious religion is and how each religion promotes them. He also notices that the religions that pursue the most and are aggressive, usually have the most success. He figures out that religion makes
