Adam Bottorff 4/27/10 Sociology Summary One World Under Business Globalization in America today is a big part of business. It is used in major corporations and companies and helps save tons of money. There are many people overseas that are willing to make our products for less money in horrible working conditions. As we see this as poor conditions, these people see this as a way of life and to make money. Charles Derber, who is the author of “One World Under Business” argues the fact that globalization does not help individuals, but it helps the rich and powerful. Charles is trying to show people that globalization in America involves three institutions that work together to help benefit themselves. The global financial markets, national governments, and the global governments all work individually, but all are intertwining institutions. He also talks about how economic, military, and democracy work together in globalization. He believes that globalization only happens to those big companies, governments
