Future Risks- General Electric relies a lot on the Wind Turbines to help with the production of energy. Even though there are many positive and great reasons to have these wind turbines, they do provide some risks to the environment and community. According to Nina Pierpont, a leading New York pediatrician, she believes that when living close to a wind turbine, it increases the chances of heart disease, tinnitus, vertigo, panic attacks, migraines and decreases sleep (Pagano1).She finds that humans are affected by low frequency noises and vibrations from the wind turbines. The new health risk she has found out is called wind turbine syndrome (wts). This is a big future risk because this affects the health of citizens around the area of wind turbines. Essentially, more people will look for land and homes farther away from wind turbines. http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/green-living/are-wind-farms-a-health-risk-us-scientist-identifies-wind-turbine-syndrome-1766254.html Pagano, Margeret a.
