Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (Genetic Screening) Thesis: I believe that pre-implantation genetic diagnosis should be used to examine if their future child has a disorder so the parents can prepare properly, but the diagnosis should not be used if the parents what to discard the embryos with the disorder and keep the one that it healthy. Her topics include the arguments of advocates of special needs community and the arguments of people who think PGD is entirely permissible. Sarah then goes into talking about her views and how she thinks it is permissible in certain cases. I wanted to explain the arguments she listed in more detail and go into more dept of the cases she thought were permissible. The next article I found I want to touch on all the situations the author brought up and the different argument for each one. The arguments include using PGD to select for serious diseases, and to select sex of embryos. I also wanted to talk a little bit about what is going on in legislation on PGD which the author gives information about.
