Danning Zhang COM491- Paper 1 Social Networking Services A social network service is an online service, platform, or site that focuses on building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people, e.g., who share interests and/or activities. (Wikipedia, This is an official definitioin from Wikipedia, . To me and my friends, social network service is some websites that we go to every day to see what's happening around the world, particularly the people around us by sharing messages, pictures and videos, talking to each other and playing games. Beside socializing, the most basic and essential function of social networking service, a number of other new ways of taking advantage of it are coming out, such as doing business on a small scale by tagging people in their photo albums of merchandises and online dating. There are two Chinese net working websites I am very familiar with, which are Renren and Qzone. These two websites are, as far as I know, the two most popular ones in China. (Facebook and Twitter were also very popular before they had been blocked, and Google Buzz& Window Live are only wide-used among the range of users of the certain program.)
