BLOOD Blood is a specialized bodily fluid that delivers necessary substances to the body's individual cells (in animals) – such as nutrients and oxygen – and transports waste products away from those same cells (CO 2 ). A normal human adult has 6-7 liters of blood.

COMPOSITION OF BLOOD The human blood mainly constitutes of 4 things: Red blood cells (Erythrocytes) White blood cells (Leucocytes) Platelets (Thrombocytes) Plasma (a fluid portion)

PLASMA All of the blood cells in the body are mixed together in a slightly yellowish liquid called Plasma. Plasma is mostly made up of water (approximately 90% water), but also contains proteins about 7-8%, and sugars, salt, glucose, amino acids, enzymes, hormones, anti bodies & traces of many organic and inorganic things about 2-3%. Plasma has the important function of maintaining the pH of the blood at approximately 7.4.
