A Geyser is ... A natural hot spring Sprays HOT water and steam into the air Certain conditions are required for a geyser to be present in an area : 1. A heat source at the bottom (ex: hot rocks, magma) 2. Enough ground water  3. Water reservoir near the top 4. A “plumbing system” – way for the water to get in and out

But How Do GEYSERS Work ?? 1) Cool ground water moves deep into the earth 2) The water gets heated when it nears a source of heat (ex: hot magma chamber) 3) The water reaches a “superheated” state : - water is boiling but can’t turn into steam, because it is too deep, and the weight of water above creates pressure on it 7) Finally, the water becomes too hot or the pressure on it

A Homemade Geyser DEMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAqiQSKSQWo How GEYSERS Affect the Environment Geysers are a good source of geothermal energy People create geothermal energy plants at these sites This causes an imbalance in the Earth • The concept of geysers affect the technology of many inventions • Example: The company SunTank produces “Stainless steel solar geysers” which uses the concept of geysers in order to heat water using solar energy • This technology is more environmentally and econom ically friendly How GEYSERS Affect Technology...

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
