How is the experience of the refugee narrated and constructed in these accounts and the short testimonies? Rana from Haifa - force to abandon their home, land and the majority of their belongings, her father grew up in a refugee camp Mahmoud from Jerusalem - houses would be under curfew, his mother had to drink her own urine to survive (1947). His family was eventually able to survive by his mother going back to teach Dina from Rammun - her grandfather was accused of housing resistance fighters, after the war he was arrested, publically beaten and then sent to prison, his house was then demolished. The rest of the family had to stay with relatives. Remembers her father on the phone talking about ‘The Land’ and trying to find a way to go back to reclaim his land. Alaa from Ramla - father’s father was expelled from the area, fled to the West Bank, his step siblings remained in the 1948 area, was not allowed to leave, splitting of the family, lost their land, orchards, trees etc. directly related to their
