Requirements for setting up and maintaining: On 10BaseT and 100BaseTX Ethernet networks larger than two computers, each computer or printer (or other network device) is connected to a hub. The hub is a small box that gethers the signal from each individual device, optically amplified each signal and then sends the signal out to all other connected devices. Amplification ensures that information that the network receives is reliable. An Ethernet hub is like a wheel, at the center is where all the spokes come together, to connect each networked device. Hubs are also called concentrators or repeaters. Hubs come in various sizes, with the most common being a 12- port or a 24-port (so they can connect 12 or 24 computers, printers or hubs. Requirements for setting up and maintaining: A bridge connects two or more networks or segments of the same network. These networks may use different physical data and link protocols. Bridges filter network traffic and examine each set of data, transmitting only appropriate data to each connected segment. Bridges reduce the
