Andrew Lazarow 10/26/10 Unit 2 essay a. Target Market- People 16 years and older that could potentially visit the store based on their proximity to the store. Issue #1- This issue is a methodology issue because by putting the survey on the bottom of the grocery bag the customer may not see the survey. Very rarely does a person check the bottom of the bag thoroughly when unpacking groceries. Solution- A solution to this could be to staple the survey to the outside of the bag so the survey is clearly visible to the customer. Issue #2- The second issue is a sampling error because the survey does not cover the target market. The survey is only distributed to customers who shop at the store, but a potential customer who doesn’t shop at the store still has an opinion of the store. Solution- A solution to this could be to put the survey in a newspaper that is distributed to the target market such as the local newspaper or even put the survey online and have a sign in the store window directing people to the website.
