Georgia's new immigration law The state of Georgia recently passed a strict immigration law that, among other regulations, requires that businesses check the immigration status of new hires. Conduct an analysis of the likely consequences of this law on agricultural businesses across the state, immigrant workers, and the Georgia economy. Develop a recommendation as to whether the state should repeal this section of the new law. Address the memo to the Office of the Governor. Athens-Clarke County and poverty Athens-Clarke County has one of the highest poverty rates in the country but relatively low unemployment. Many argue that this occurs because the university and the hospitals attract low-income job seekers across the region. Conduct an analysis of the labor market in Athens, GA, and evaluate some policy alternatives to address the problem. One of the policy alternatives should be a city living wage ordinance.
