English 355:100 Section 60 Basic Composition - Fall 2010 MTh1, 9:15-10:35 Hickman Hall 115 Instructor: Anannya Dasgupta Office Hours: Thursday 10:45 – 12:00 Location: 135 George Street, 3 rd Floor Email: [email protected] Sakai Website: https://sakai.rutgers.edu/portal Course Description and Goals: Basic Composition is designed to prepare you for English 101, Expository Writing, which you will take upon successful completion of this course. In English 100 you may be asked to read, write and thing in ways that are unfamiliar to you. The essays we will read are difficult for anyone to grasp at first glance, and you will be working with them through out the semester. The effort will be worth it, for you will improve both your ability to read texts in dialogue with another and to respond intelligently to them in writing. In addition to reading and writing, you will have numerous opportunities to speak aloud to the class, as individuals and in group presentations. Above all, expect to gain from this course what you are willing to put into it.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
