The truth about ‘safe sex’ A special column by Jeff Patton / Cincinnati Pro Ministry The dog food was served on delicate little crackers with a wedge of imported cheese, bacon chips, an olive and a sliver of pimento on top. That's right, hors d'oeuvresa la Alpo. The Place? An elegant reception in a physician's home near Miami, Florida. The hostess had just graduated from gourmet cooking school, and she decided to put her skill to the ultimate test. Did she ever! One by one those doctored up morsels disappeared. One man couldn't get enough. I've known of this story for a few years, but recently I was reminded of it again. As I sat in my comfortable chair watching the evening news, I heard Magic Johnson's words, "I have been infected with the HIV Virus, and I want to be a spokesman for safe sex. ." He then gave us his definition of safe sex which was simply: "WEAR A CONDOM-The first thing that flashed through my mind was "deceit, lie, falsehood." Just as the people at the reception bought (ate) into the deception of the a la Alpo. so most of the world would buy into Magic's untrue statement that a condom equals safe sex. Everywhere I read, I see people who have been deceived by Magic's message. "Rocket" Rahib Ismail in the USA Today said, "Everyone knows now that there is no love without the glove." Millions of teenagers have swallowed this lie-hook, line and sinker. It breaks my heart! William Shakespeare once defined deceit
