Gas applications to the atmosphere Know the regions of the atmosphere and some important processes that occur Know the meaning of and be able to give an example of the following photochemical processes: photo ionization, photo absorption, photo excitation Give the bond energy or ionization energy of a molecule, be able to calculate the minimum energy or maximum wavelength of a photon needed for the process to occur. Know the type of radiation involved in the ozone cycle ( the formation and decomposition of ozone) in the stratosphere. Know the chemical cause of the ozone hole. Know what is meant by the greenhouse affect and the types of energy and processes that cause it. Know the names and chemical formulas of several important greenhouse gases. Know the difference between the greenhouse affect and global warming. 2. Properties of liquids
