The Basics: The exam will be Tuesday, October 30 th in Smith 120 at 9:30 am . I will hand out the exam promptly at 9:30 and will collect the exam promptly at 10:45. You should therefore plan on arriving to class a little early to assure yourself the full exam time period. No one will be allowed to continue working on the exam past 10:45. You should bring a pencil and a pen to the exam . You should also note that unreadable answers will be graded as incorrect, so please be careful in marking your answer choices and writing your answers. NOTE: If you require alternative testing arrangements, please make arrangements with me this week so I can have the test delivered to the ADA office for you to take next week. The Content: The exam will cover all reading assignments and lecture materials from Tuesday, October 2 nd and Thursday, October 25 th . As discussed in class, and on the syllabus, you will be asked questions about material from the reading assignments as well as material from the lectures . This includes the movie and the campaign ads we watched. The format of the exam will include 10 questions in each of the following sections: true / false; multiple choice; definitions; one sentence answer. The first two sections should be self explanatory; the definition section will ask that you provide the word that best matches the provided definition. The one sentence answer questions should be answered with no more than one sentence. The exam is closed note and book . You will not be allowed to use any materials during the exam . Remember that you are not permitted to use electronic devices during the exam. Please make sure you turn off your cell phones and other devices before the test begins. Anyone using such a device will forfeit their exam and receive a score of zero. Grading: In terms of grading, your grade on the exam will reflect the total number of points you score on the exam and be recorded as a percentage of points earned divided by possible points. You should also remember that I will not be offering extra credit on an individual basis, so you should try to do your best on the exam. The Study Guide: The following outline was prepared by Erin. You should use it as a guideline in studying for the exam. There will be questions based on the information below and on information that is not included below . Therefore, studying only the information on the study guide will not be sufficient, but will give you a good starting point. Everyone studies differently, so feel free to use this guide as you see fit. Good luck on the exam!
