Effects of cocoa products on blood pressure: Systematic review and meta-analysis. *The purpose of this epidemiological study was to assess the antihypertensive effects of flavanol-rich cocoa products. The measured the changed in systolic and diastolic blood pressure between intervention and control groups (2). 10 controlled trials with 297 people were split into two groups – healthy normotensive adults or hypertension/stage 1 hypertension adults.
