SAS 15-A05, April 20, 2010, Reflective Writing #4 If a roommate or someone in my household became HIV positive, I don’t think that many things would change in the household. I’m sure at first we would all be in shock about it and not react as well as we should but when a disease as big as HIV comes in to your own household in someone you actually know, it changes everything. Unless the person in the household with HIV was one that we slept with, I wouldn’t really have that many concerns for me personally since I know that HIV is only passed from person to person through bodily fluids, blood, and birth. I know something that we would change would be the cleanliness of our house and the way that we act when we are sick would also change. We would definitely have to be more careful around the person with HIV and try not to pass anything along to them so as not to risk infecting them further and making them sicker while their immune system is already down. To make sure that neither I or any of the others in my household get HIV, I would make sure to not share needles
