Running head: Improving Assessment Validity for Students with Disability in Large Scale Programs 2 Introduction Accommodations are defined as the alterations to test the presentation, location, timing and the schedules for responding, accommodating and mitigating barriers of disability, and allowing people with disabilities to show, and demonstrate actual achievement in specific academic areas without changing the specifics being measured. Required accommodations are those that are used regularly for giving instructions which are tailored to meet the individual needs. Accommodation help students who have specific needs without giving them due advantage over those who do not have special needs. Some instructions are given in special ways
