Chemistry 460 Fall, 2011 Professor Tomikazu Sasaki MWF 12:30 - 1:20 P.M., BAG 261 Policies, Procedure and Exam Schedule i Professor Tomikazu Sasaki (Room 204H) Office Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 11:30am - 12:30pm (Room 204H) Text: "Organic Structural Spectroscopy" by Lambert, Schurvell, Lightner and Cooks TA and Office Hours: Ken Quayle (grader), TBA Holidays: November 11 (Fri) and 25(Fri). Problem Sets: You will be given problem sets (homework) for practice on Mondays (starting from the 3rd week). There will be five problem sets. These problems allow you to determine whether you have mastered the new lecture material and to practice spectroscopic problems. Each problem set will be collected on the following Monday (10 pts each). The answer key for problem sets will be posted on the course website (see 2nd page). Examinations: There will be three one-hour exams and final exam. The exams are based on lectures. The reading and chapter problems serve only as an aid to your understanding of the lecture material. Exam Dates: October 19, November 14 and December 5. Molecular models and scientific calculators may be used during exams. Exam solutions and relevant statistical data will be posted as soon as they become available.
