Problem 1 : bookshelf bracket under uniform loading Below is a steel bracket ( 3 . 0 , / 10 29 2 6 in lb E , the radius of the hole is in r 125 . 0 ) used to support a bookshelf. The bracket is loaded uniformly along its top surface, and its left edge is fixed. Under the given loading and constraints, use element type “8node183” to: (1) plot the deformed shape; and (2) determine the principal and the von Mises stresses in bracket.

Give the configuration a Title (such as 'Bookshelf Bracket_your name'). In the Utility menu bar select File > Change Title: To get the title to appear immediately, select Utility Menu > Plot > Replot III. Form the geometry: 1.
