MA 15400 Exam 3 Memo, Summer 2011 1. Exam 3 is during the regular class time on Monday, July 25 th in class. 2. The exam consists of 13 questions. You will be required to show your steps/work and partial credit may be given for steps leading to the correct solutions. 3. You will have the whole 60 minutes to complete the exam. If you arrive late to class, you will only have the remaining minutes of class time to complete the exam. 4. The day prior to the exam (Friday, July 22) is a review class. The following problems will be good review problems to discuss on that day. (Other questions, such as ones from old exams or homework, may be asked as well.) The best way to prepare for the exam is to review all homework problems . Chapter 8 review (p. 557): 2, 6, 7, 8, 11(a-d), 12(a-c), 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20(a,b), 21a, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 47 Chapter 4 review (p. 273): 30, 32, 36, 40

The formulas that will be provided are found on the formula sheet located under other information on the course web page. This formula sheet will be attached to your exam. 7. Lessons covered on the exam include lessons 18 through 24. Sections in the book are 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, and 4.5. 8. Exams from previous semesters are available on the course web page. These problems may not represent every type of problem that may appear on your exam. They are good for review purposes, but are not a guarantee of what may or may not appear on your exam. Be aware that each semester’s exam 3 may cover different lessons, so some old exams may have questions that will not appear on your exam. 9. Do not forget to bring your homework 24 to turn in....
