5 Things You Should Know About Clickers Clickers allow instructors to ask questions and gather students' responses during a lecture. 1. How does it work? In class, to answer questions of a pop quiz posed by the instructor, each student uses a device that looks like a simple TV remote (shown to the right). Summaries of student responses will be shown in real time to both the instructor and students. Answers are also stored electronically. Your responses will be graded ; 3 points for a correct answer, 1 point if your answer is wrong, and zero points if you did not respond. 2. Why must the instructor torture you with pop quizzes? Pop quizzes increase your motivation to attend the class (physically and mentally)! They keep students awake and facilitate students’ engagement with course materials. Pop quizzes break up the flow of a lecture. Clickers allow students to answer questions anonymously .
